President
As Safety Speed’s President, Brian Donahue is responsible for overseeing all the key departments that have made Safety Speed successful for over the past 60 years. Part of his day to day work includes working with his highly qualified department managers to deliver a quality product in a timely effective manner to a long-time customer base of dealers, end users, home centers, and original equipment manufacturers. He works with engineering to enhance current products and develop new products on a daily basis. He spends time with his U.S. manufacturing and sales team to make sure they are successful in delivering what the customer requires and also in each of their goals for growth within Safety Speed Manufacturing. He presently serves on the board of directors for the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA) Association and is the Chair of the 2020 International Woodworking Fair (IWF) in Atlanta, Georgia.
After several years working in Alaska as part of the tourism industry he joined Safety Speed in 1997 as a sales representative. He immediately knew that Safety Speed had such a great product line and customer base that even he could sell and support the equipment. He never looked back or thought of doing anything else, as he learned more about the product and customers, he gained more responsibilities and opportunities. His entrepreneur background, coming from growing up on a farm, and University studies of Operations has helped him to continue to grow with Safety Speed Manufacturing over the years.
He appreciates just about any fun activity outdoors and working in his yard. Most of all he enjoys being with his wife and daughters; working on projects, adventuring with them, watching their sporting events, and hanging out at home enjoying quality time together.
